• "Hi Elisabete The holiday was lovely. Lindeman Island resort and facilities really catered for families well and there were no hiccups with our itinerary. My only suprise with the resort was the lack of good coffee!!! You could only get a decent coffee from the bar which opened at 10 am. So for a coffee addict like me, I was really disappointed. The brewed coffee was like what you get in Asia.

The lack of lifts could also be a problem for some - particularly for those with young children or disabled. It was really frustrating when you had to go to reception - you have to climb 77 stairs.

However, overall we would do Club Med again - perhaps Malaysia next time. Many people that we met said that the overseas Club Meds, in particular Nusa Dua, were far more professional than Lindeman island. Many thanks for your prompt and efficient help." Ms Dina B., NSW, Australia (1 Feb 06)

The food, accommodation, entertainment, excursions and sporting activities and service could not be faulted in any way. Bintan was certainly a treat. The GO's were fantastic, the food - we nicknamed it the 'Club Med Spread'! The kids club and staff were wonderful. We never saw the kids, and did not feel guilty. • "Hi Lynette The trip to Club Med Lindeman Resort was terrific - I would recommend it to all ages - families, couples and singles, both of all ages mixed well and enjoyed all the activities. My room was on the ground floor of the 3000 block and it was a terrific position.

I did tell them the shows were far too loud for both my age group and amny of the ittle ones. Food was fabulous. GOs were very friendly and helpful. The weather wasn't that good - that didn't worry me I played tennis twice a day, swam, played golf etc. So all your efforts and bookings went smooothly and were much appreciated. • "Hi Kylie We had a great time didn't want to leave. Club Med in Phuket is called a hotel now. This gives you an idea of how they operate.

We took a boat excursion to Pan Yi and James Bond Island I was told here at home that this was a highlight of the trip to phuket It cost AUD $196 for two. Not at anytime during the 10 hour trip did they inform us that we were not going ashore at James Bond Island. So that was very disappointing that being the object of the trip.

When I got back to Club Med I asked at the excursion desk if they went ashore at that point. She said no, becaujse those on the island asked for $6 AUD more per person and Club Med would not pay it. She gave me the impression the price fluctuated from time to time.

However, anyone wanting to see James Bond Island would be advised to try the larger ferries that take this trip. They take with them small canoes which you can sail to James Bond Island and through the various rock limestone islands if you choose. It cost 500 baht each to leave phuket. • "Gayle Had a fun week at Club Med Lindeman Resort - lucky we are both walkers, the weather was so cold and windy at first, then wet as well! The all inclusive system is great. The food was fabulous, we were not around for lunch as we would take fruit in our backpacks. We had two lovely days on the other side of the island, in the sun, out of the wind on boat harbour beach and gap beach.other days we walked in the rain!!! The walks are wonderful especially to the mountain through the trees, and plantation beach is lovely.

My son Sam..22.. ended up joining us..he scuba dived in the rain, windsurfed in the rain, sailed catamarans in the rain, played golf in the rain. And walked and swam in the rain!!!! He revelled in the food and all inclusive drinks, partied with the go's...but when asked what he enjoyed most..it was the bush walking! He and his mates are planning a return.. great value for them! • "Hi Dinah, Well we had a wonderfull Easter! Club Med Lindeman is just fantastic! The room was great, (pool outside our door), The food was amazing, so much variety Yum!, the kids club is fantastic (if only my children did not suffer from separation problems!! just abit of yelling and tears when we droped them off!)

But they have the best set up for kids, pools, trampoline, amazing playground, and offer lots of different activities tennis/golf lessons/ bush walks the list is endless. Amazing! Drop them off at 9am and pickup at 5pm then again at 6.30pm-8.30. All day to yourself!! (well maybe when my children get older we can have that!!)

Would totally recommend Club Med to any family wanting to escape! It offers the perfect formular for the perfect family holiday. Can't wait to try Club Med in another country!!!! And also the Baby's Room that you mentioned was filled with baby food!! I was shocked, it had a variety of tin baby food, yogurts, cheeses, and all the equipment babies need! There was no need for me to have brought my own!!

• "Dear Gayle, I had a great holiday. The weather was wonderful - unlike Brisbane where there were thunderstorms and flooding rain in my absence. I was well looked after at Club Med Lindeman and although I expected to share with a stranger in my room, I ended up with it to myself which was nice as I could read or watch TV at night and not worry about disturbing anyone else. There were loads of activities there in which I participated - sailing, swimming, water polo, golf, archery and I even gave the trapeze a try. The other guests were very friendly and I did not lack for company at meal times. Also the staff were very friendly and helpful.

It would be a very good resort to recommend to families with teenage children. Loads to do!! The food was exceptional - delicious and well presented and plenty of variety.

The three nights and four days spent on the Windjammer were really wonderful. I got to see many of the islands and snorkelled at a variety of spots on the reef. The guests on board were from Germany, England and Perth and we all got on well together. The scenery and the food were excellent. The multishare cabin was very squashed for room, but I didn't mind as we were only there to sleep. Quite warm at night below deck and I would hesitate to recommend this in the middle of Summer as it would be sweltering by January. This boat was comfortable to travel in - no-one got seasick (an added bonus!) Also the stinger suits are required from October to April, I think and the risk of stings from box jellyfish or irigangie is another deterrent to travelling there in the hotter months.

Back on the mainland for my last night there, I stayed at the Airlie Beach Organic Bed and Breakfast and could thoroughly recommend this also. Much nicer than a motel and a wonderful view • I would love to return there in the future with my partner, but would probably choose September. We scuba dived, Bungy bounced, arched (using bows and arrows), drank a lot (using the arm bands) and met some great people.

• "Elisabete, Thanks for the welcome home, but I would much rather be in Australia - cyclones and all! Actually, we were very lucky with the weather. We left Hamilton Island just as the cyclone was coming in. I heard that it was a bad one. I had a work friend visit a week after we left. He said the airport and roads shut down....islands were evacuated..... Luck was on our side!

I thought your accomodations were great! I really enjoyed the 4 Point Sheraton in Sydney - great location. Club Med Lindeman was fun, but what's the deal with their drink tickets? Kind of an annoyance - I can't add much after a few rum punches even if they are color coordinated (kidding).

The Great Barrier Reef excursion was nice; however, I think there might be better reef trips besides Reef World. The Reef World boat staff were great though, very efficient when handing out the barf bags. Fortunately I wasn't in need!

Melbourne was lovely. Although I won't choose to stay in a B&B again (no offense to you Myrna). It feels a bit too much like I'm staying with a distant aunt. I think a hotel is easier when it comes to getting info on directions, excursion, dining out, etc.... Just my opinion. All in all, I had a great time and look forward to visiting again. Hopefully Myrna can send a picture in an email. Thanks for all your help with our arrangements. PS - you were right about the boys in Melbourne.... very cute!" • "Hello Elisabete ! My sentiments exactly as Shannon wrote. We loved our 4-Point Sheraton in Sydney • The location, room, staff was perfect! Club Med Lindeman had more couples that I expected so we hung out mostly with the 18yr old - 26 yr old staff. They were fun playing pool with and having fun with the games and entertainment they give.

And yes, Melbourne • St. Kilda was a treat (I chime Shannon about the Bed and Breakfast - instead I would NOT listen to me and put people up instead at the Marque hotel in St. Kilda • It was similar to a W Hotel - very chic and not too bad of a price. St. Kilda had a lot of alternative clothing stores, great restaurants and bars.

The city itself we could have explored more but instead a friend of ours took us on a drive up the Great Ocean Road and we also took an excursion to see Kangas, Koalas and the Penquin Parade. We loved the animals/mammals! I do have to say that you made our travel EASY! It was wonderful having everything booked in advance and taken care of. You listened and knew exactly what we were looking for.

That is what vacation is about! Thank you, thank you, thank you! I will definitely recommend you to other friends of mine who I'm encouraging to go to Oz. The next time I go, I want to see Perth! • "Hi Kylie, We enjoyed Club Med Lindeman and it gave my husband the much needed rest and relaxation he needed. He enjoyed the archery and hiking very much. I enjoyed the circus school, too. The weather was a bit too cold and windy to enjoy the water, though.

We took a half day trip to a reef and then to Whitehaven beach. On the way back, the waves were so rough they covered the boat. Luckily, we sat inside so we stayed dry. A couple days later, we took a day trip to the reef to Reefworld. The weather was great, lots of sun, no wind, so the water was calm. Enjoyed snorkeling the reef. The captain said on the way back that we would stop to see whales but we did not.

We saw some whales spouting and breathing but we did not stop or slow down. Instead, he did a slow sail past Whitehaven beach which we had already been to. The food was great and so much of it. I'm sure we gained several pounds (kilos)!!!

We learned that Lindeman Resort is the only south facing resort in the Whitsundays. Had we known that prior to making a reservation, we would have booked elsewhere. The south winds were really strong both day and night for the first 3 days. Thanks," Twila S., Los Angeles, USA (5 Aug 03)
