• "Hi Gayle, the Queen Elizabeth 2 was absolutely fabulous - the ship was unbelievable - size, style etc and great food and service. The cabin was great - king size bed and the balcony worth the extra money. They did a great deal to keep us our of bad weather and while not entirely able to provide sunshine and calm weather the entire trip - it worked pretty well!!!

The entrance into New York harbour on the last day was spectacular - we got up early and followed the journey in - first from the cabin - lucky we were on the port side!! - and then from the upper decks a little later. We had a special dinner for my husband's birthday in the Todd English restaurant which was one of the best ever - great wine advice too -altho not enough Australian - the Kiwis did better!!! He ended up with two birthday cakes - one in each restaurant.

The only disappointing thing were the arrangements at disembarkation. I checked with the tour desk and they recommended taxis for people going to stay in NY city - however when we emerged there were about 300 of us waiting and very few taxis - we wiated over one and half hours kerbside - not an efficient process - I would have booked a car had I known. We were one of many in the same situation. I rescued a poor French woman who didn't know to get a ticket and waited just as long as we had before she found out. She just didn't understand.

There are many stories to tell and I'll find an appropriate picture when we have time. For the record and other people's benefit - there are 3 black tie nights in the 6 days. Hope this helps and thanks - I managed to maintain the surprise for my husband right till the embarkation area - he thought we were going to the Isle of Wight on the southampton car ferry to visit friends. He was v. v. surprised!!! and delighted. He loved it all - including the watercolour classes and the library." Mrs Anne T., Sydney, Australia (17 Nov 05)

• "Thanks Sali, We had a great QE2 cruise to London. The weather was great and the flights and hotels worked out perfectly. We made a lot of friends and were surprised to find so many others on their Honeymoons onboard as well!!!" Kurt & Carly R., Melbourne, Australia (3 Aug 05)

• "Hello Kylie, As you know, we have sailed before on other lines and for our first Queen Elizabeth 2 cruise, "Spendours of the Fall" was right up there. The ship was impressive in a grand style and the service was generally excellent, although I suspect it improves considerably with the cabin category.

We dined in the Brittania and quickly learned not to be late or be locked out for breakfast or lunch. It opens for just one and a half hours at each session, otherwise it is the King's Court buffet which we don't recommend, certainly not the place for elaborate dining, just quick meals. The Todd English Restaurant was much better and that's where we ended up with our friends most nights before heading off to entertainment in the Royal Court Theater.

The ship's entertainment was excellent in range and quality. The Mark Hodgson Trio were very popular, playing in the Chart Room and the music combos and soloists at the various bars were as good as any we have experienced afloat. The Canyon Ranch staff also supplied good service yet it was never hard to make an appointment - the opposite to the shore excursions where you need to book early!

The room was large and comfortable but not soundproofed sufficiently from the inter-connecting door to the next cabin - something to avoid in future as we only need the one alarm clock to wake us.

Overall it was a fantastic trip and we look forward to another great time on board her next year, propbably to Panama in January." Richard B., Canberra, Australia (11 May 05)
