Traveller Reviews #17 .... more
• "Hi Zoe We had a great holiday and the accommodation etc was exactly what we wanted, we were very impressed with Hamilton Island, the choices, food, service and facilities were all above our expectations, trully a great getaway island.

Hayman was an experience and one that didn't live up to the expectations that we had, I think the service was a little slack on a few occasions. Other than that, we will keep you in mind next year, when we decide to take another break (off to USA and Italy in September this year). Kind regards" Debbie G., Wellington, New Zealand (30 Jun 04)

• "Tina Just to let you know, Fi and I had an absolutely wonderful and really relaxing time on Orpheus Island. The staff are just sensational being attentive, unobtrusive, genuinely friendly, great sense of humour and made us feel right at home....from the moment we landed to the moment we left.

The location is just breath taking, the facilities first rate, the food was exceptional, and the travel arrangements ran like clock work. Fi and I agree that we have never had such a great holiday. We feel totally spoilt. Thanks for the recommendation and all your help in arranging our itinerary. Kindest regards" Kevin O'S., Sydney, Australia (29 Jun 04)

• "Dear Rene Thanks so much for organising our holiday - we had a wonderful time. In fact Tas loved Bedarra Island Resort so much we stayed another night - the reception handled the change in planes, etc. Also thanks for calling re the camera - we collected it at the Mac counter in Cairns. Again thanks, and we will definitely use you again if we are lucky enough to take another holiday. Best regards," Belinda W., Sydney, Australia (25 Jun 04)

Brampton Island Wedding

Click to enlarge• "Hi Zoe, Chris and I had a great time. Unfortunately we didn’t get married on the intended day though. We were supposed to get married on Thursday the 29th of April, but it absolutely poured with rain, and Anne and Wayne were unable to fly to Brampton Island Resort. So it all ended up happening on the 30th. It turned out to be a beautiful day. We all had a ball. There was so much to do, and the staff really did a lot to help us out. We were thinking about having our 1st anniversary there but we’ll have to see what we’re doing. Hope you like the pictures." Chanelle W., Sydney, Australia (23 Jun 04)

•"Thanks for the welcome Gayle. The trip was a great success and your arrangements were excellent. The weather could of been better for us, but we made the most out of the experience. Thanks again for your assistance." Simon M., New York, USA (20 Jun 04)

• "Hi Gayle, We had a wonderful holiday and we found the Captain Cook Cruise a delight and would certainly recommend it to anyone over 50 years. The food, service and cabins were great and probably the only thing that was slightly disappointing was that the coral isn't as good as 20 years ago. We would probably consider doing another one in 3 or 4 years time and I was amazed at how much repeat business this company does get. Many thanks," Jenny C., Sydney, Australia (24 Jun 04)

South Molle Island
Click to enlarge• "Hello Zoe, We were very lucky to receive a complimentary upgrade of accomodation on South Molle Island, and stayed in a Whitsunday unit overlooking the ocean for the price of a golf unit. The golf units appeared to be rather on the tired side but the Whitsunday unit was great. I can recommend South Molle for snorkelling off the shore and the range of activities on offer. I'd like to thank Zoe for recommending the full board option as it was certainly the way to go. The meals were substantial and the quality good. Friday's all you can eat seafood smorgesboard is excellent." Gill C., Sunshine Coast, Australia (2 Jun 04)

• "Dear Zoe, Just a short note of Thanks for all your hard work over the past months to get us on a great holiday. I have appreciated your time and effort and will certainly be contacting you in the future for our next holiday. (You poor thing) So once again Thanks so much for your patience and time. Can't wait to get there. Fond Regards" Christine R., Melbourne, Australia (20 May 04)

Heron Island
Click to enlarge• "Hi Zoe, We made it back after a terrific trip. I want to thank you for your advice and assistance in helping us plan this trip. All of the connections were just as you arranged and when there was a change in the flight schedule on one of the legs of the trip you were right on top of that, and called our hotel. A job well done! Anytime we hear of someone heading to Australia we will make sure they know about the fantastic service we had from Zoe Creswick. Thanks again and best regards," Susan & Larry B., Los Angeles, USA (30 May 04)

• "Dear Kylie, We want to thank you so much for the great job you and GlobeNet travel did for us on our recent trip to Australia. Every thing went according to schedule and everybody met us when they were supposed to. Sydney and the Hunter Valley wine tour were great and The Four Seasons was outstanding. We really enjoyed Uluru and the aboriginal people. Jane and Guy thought that was the best. Carol and I and Greg and Nancy thoughtthe Daintree and Silky Oaks was the best. We all enjoyed the Great Barrier Reef and the people of Australia, who were friendly and interesting. All in all we thought you did a sensational job. Thanks again" T, C, G, J, G, and N, Michigan, USA (19 May 04)

If you hear of any good specials could you please let me know we are planning a holiday for us two and the four children next year some where in Australia on a child friendly island. Thank you so much for your help Zoe" Kathy M., Sydney, Australia (28 May 04)

• "Dear Tina, Many thanks - We had a great holiday at Orpheus Island Resort and all your arrangements went very smoothly. The weather was almost perfect - around 28 every day and we did lots of snorkelling. The food was fabulous and best of all I did not gain weight! All the staff very friendly and helpful. Occupancy only between 6& 12 which we enjoyed. Would love to hear of specials from time to time. Thanks for the help." Pru C., Sydney, Australia (28 May 04)

• "Dear Zoe, Many thanks for all your help. My parents had an excellent trip. The hotels you suggested and booked in Cairns and on Club Crocodile Long Island were just perfect and they loved Australia very much! We will definitely use your services again! Kind regards" Florence S., Zurich, Switzerland (17 May 04)

• "Hi Tina Just wanted to say thankyou for organising our holiday to Daydream Island. It was really nice. Very relaxing and the kids club was brilliant. The package was excellent with the Spa included Thankyou." Melisa F., Melbourne, Australia (17 May 04)

• "Hi Zoe, Thank you for your message upon our return. We had a fantastic time, due in part to your great organizing of our accommodations and travel arrangements. Thank you. Heron Island was fantastic very relaxing and the snorkeling was incredible, we all really enjoyed the trip. We travel to Australia every one to two years so we will bookmark your companies website and contact you when we are again in need of travel arrangements. Thanks again your service was first rate! All the best," Kim B., Santa Monica, USA (17 May 04)

• "Dear Kylie I just wanted to write and thank you for all the arrangements you made for our recent trip to Queensland. Everything worked out perfectly – there wasn’t a single glitch except that the tour we requested at Silky Oaks Lodge had not been booked on the day we requested. But this turned out to our advantage so it was not a problem. We loved everywhere that we stayed – Heron Island, Coconut Beach Rainforest Lodge and Silky Oaks.

We especially liked Silky Oaks – it is a beautiful, elegant resort in a stunning location – Mossman Gorge. Heron Island was a bit like Club Med but we enjoyed the laid back atmosphere and the beautiful location – not to mention all the birds EVERYWHERE and the wonderful marine life. Coconut Beach also had a great location – right on the beach and at the edge of the rainforest – it was also nice being so remote – right up in Cape Tribulation whereas many tourists do not get past Daintree village.. Thanks again for all your help." K.C., Bangkok, Thailand (4 May 04)

• "Zoe, I wanted to let you know everything was wonderful on our trip. You did a great job on suggestions and accomodations. Jim and I were very happy with everything and would highly recommend you for future travels. Thank you again for all your help." Linda M., Austin, USA (1 May 04)

• "Dear Elisabete... Penny, Elizabeth,& Henry had a fantastic time and all of your arrangements went perfectly. Penny was very impressed with the high standards at Heron Island Resort, particularly the attempts made by the management to maintain the Island in a pristine condition.

Henry and Elizabeth took part in the Junior Rangers program and again Pen was full of praise for the high standards set by the staff. Pen also commented that the talks put on for the adults were informative, educational and given by people who obviously loved their work. The food was excellent.

Pen also said she would recommend anyone to take the helicopter at least one way as it was a fantastic experience for them. Please send us details of any specials etc that you would have coming up and again thank you for the wonderful service you gave us in organising this holiday. Warm Regards," Steve W., Adelaide, Australia (25 Apr 04)

• "Zoe, the Peppers Palm Bay Resort was absolutely wonderful. very well designed and managed. It had a real feeling of remoteness, something we were searching for. Thanks for your help." Paul Von C., Sydney, Australia (27 Apr 04)

• "Zoe, We had a great time. Our only disappointment was the quality and price of the food on Hamilton Island. It is a long time since I have seen food murdered so completely and at higher than average Sydney prices. I have owned 2 cafes and know how easy it is to make fresh food taste good and cost less. For other travellers to Hamilton and anywhere where you are required to wait 3 hours before booking in, can I suggest you tell the travellers to carry their costumes and towels in their hand luggage. We could have swum when we first arrived and filled in the time without being so hot and bored. Thank you for your service." Amanda D., Sydney, Australia (27 Apr 04)

• "Hi Sonia, The trip was fantastic and everything went perfectly. As you said going to the ibis in brisbane was a comedown after vatulele but it was what I was expecting so it was ok. Vatulele was great a little too humid sometimes and the mosquitos became a bit of a nuisance. As far as the facilities and the food etc. It was great and the people couldn't of been nicer. Getting the day rooms was a great idea. It would have been really long waits in the airport without them. Would strongly recommend them for any other clients traveling there.

Liked visitng Kevin and seeing Brisbane and the Gold Coast and where he went to school. Also got to see Steve Erwin, Bindy and his wife at the Australia Zoo. It was a great croc show and the zoo was really neat seeing all the different australian animals. Also noticed everytheing in australia is very clean and people very nice. Both the Medina Brisbane with city lights and Seaworld Nara accommodations were very nice. Liked port douglas, accommodations were okay but management was very nice and helpful. Probably would have liked to of been a little closer to town and one notch up on accommodations but realize getting anything was a problem that time of year but having the extra space with the boys made it comfortable.

Did take the Skyrail to Kuranda, really cool and went into the Daintree up to Cape Tribulation. Enjoyed that day also. The Quicksilver Tour to the reef was good. Thought they were very well organized and efficient and never felt like we were part of a group of 400. The reef was great, saw a large variety of fish and also we all enjoyed the semi-sub ride. Would certainly recommend it for anyone's visit to the reef.

Loved New Zealand. The alpine train to southern alps, with jet boat ride, sheep shearing and coach was great. We were on the short bus as there was only one other couple from Japan with us so it was very presonalized. The bus driver was very good and informative. Loved the accommodations at Chateau on the Park, ate there the nite we got in and the day we returned from the train ride we walked across the park and went to the cathedral and walked around old town, and eat at a pub. It was a long day but worth if seeing we were leaving early for Queenstown in the morning.

You and your colleague were right if we took the train from Christchurch it would have been too long combining it with a coach was a better choice. Queenstown was great. Again really liked our accommodations overlooking the lake. Also had a balcony. Great for cocktail hour!! Beautiful views and with the leaves turning it couldn't of been nicer. The combo jet boat, helicopter and gondola was great. Enjoyed it all. The boys also went bungee jumping. They absolutely enjoyed it and found it pretty exciting. Steve and I just took the pictures but I probably would do that. It wouldn't take much coaxing!!

We drove to Milford Sound, took just under 4 hours. It was rainy and cloudy that day but it made for more waterfalls so it was beautiful and dramatic - loved it. We took the Mitrepeak Boat and we were the only people upstairs so it was like a private cruise. We didn't get to see alot of the peaks becuz of the clouds but I thin it was just as nice becuz we had all the waterfalls and the clouds were low and almost touching the water. We also drove up the mountains to Wanaka and stopped in Arrowtown, the old mining town. It was beautiful with all the foliage in bloom, they were having their autumn festival this weekend with arts and crafts etc. I imagine it is packed there this weekend with a lot of traffic.

We also went to Glenochy and Paradise where some of the 'Lord of the Rings' was filmed. Very scenic ride out. As you can see we packed a lot in but never really felt like we were rushing. We seemed to have a good balance of when activities started and flight departures and arrivals. You did a great job helping to plan this trip and making it very special.

I would recommend all the tours you arranged and the accommodations, other than the Ibis, which was ok but you already knew that and I'd maybe change the Mediterrean in Port Douglas but it was just ok compared to all our other accommodations.

I look forward to working with you again when our travels take us to your part of the world again and would like hearing of some of your specials sometimes that you think might interest us. Cheers," Diane F., Washington DC, USA (26 Apr 04)

Tangalooma Resort
Click to enlarge• "Hi Zoe, I must say it's nice to have some follow-up service. The holiday was great, the only down side, I guess, was that it was school holidays (and Easter) and thus a very busy time over at Tangalooma. The resort itself was relaxing and fun and the beaches are awesome. The food wasn't ideal, however everything else was great.

Just one thing, on the flight up from Melb. they didn't have Linda's gluten-free meal (as requested), but this was fine once we called them before our flight back. It was excellent value for money and a great way to spend a week. many thanks for your help and yes, please let me know of any other specials as they arise. I have attached a photo....there are many, many more!! regards," Michelle L., Melbourne, Australia (20 Apr 04)

• "Hi Zoe - Just wanted to say thank you so much for helping us plan our trip to Heron Island. Everything was perfect! We got home yesterday and the only regret was that we all wish we could have stayed longer. All of your suggestions were right on and everything went smoothly. I would certainly refer friends to you if the opportunity came along. Many thanks for a memorable vacation." Karen F., San Francisco, USA (19 Apr 04)

Port Douglas 4 Mile Beach
Click to enlarge• "Zoe, Thank you for your message on our return. Your holiday package was brilliant; although every traveller is apprehensive about arrangements (especially with two children abroad) each part of the jig-saw fitted perfectly. Each tour operator couldn't have been more helpful and made you feel welcome. Once again, thankyou for helping us to put together a holiday of a lifetime ! Below is a picture of Port Douglas which was a great place to stay. Regards," Lane family, England, UK (18 Apr 04)

• "Hello Sonia, Our holiday was unreal thankyou. Qantas spoilt us with a bottle of champayne on ice, then when we arrived the weather was perfect, not even a breeze. We couldn't believe it. The staff were all lovely and couldn't of done enough for us, it was just excellent. The food was very yummy, we made pigs of ourselves ha!ha! The wedding was beautiful, we had an awesome day, it was romantic, casual and relaxing, everything we had hoped for.

Thank you very much for everything you did, and for being like our friend. We will definitely go through you next time we want to book a holiday, we even recommended you while we were on Dunk Island! We wish we could go back sooner! Yes, we would love to hear some of the specials on the islands, we just need to win lotto now so we can take them.ha!ha! Take care and thanks again!" Lisa, Sydney, Australia (19 Apr 04)

Hamilton Island
Click to enlarge• "Dear Zoe, everthing was absoluely o.k., I had no trouble at all. Here's a picture of my kids, taken at Hamilton Island which I would recommend to everyone. Thanks a lot," Robert H., Budapest, Hungary (17 Apr 04)

• "Hello Tosh, What a great trip. Really exceptional. Ended with one night only in the Blue Mountains and stayed at The Establishment in Sydney. Smallish beds but great rooms and incredible bar and sushi.

The only poor experience was theSheraton Mirage in Port Douglas which is a tired boring resort. Suggest you send people to Silky Oaks. Went for lunch and its very nice and an easy drive from Port Douglas. Lizard Island is top class and very friendly.

As for Ayers Rock I do recommend the flight and the Harley tours. Also I would recommend that people self drive there to avoid the crowds. The car rental is no more than the overpriced tours. Another tip, the room service at Sails in the Desert is better than the restaurant and the Gecko Cafe is better value than the hotel for food. We send the car hire back a day early so don't know if we will get a credit. Not important. Kate and I are really grateful for your help and we will recommend you happily. Best regards" Rob N., London, UK (13 Apr 04)

• "Hello Gayle, I must say that we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and the service provided by you and Globenet was outstanding. Particularly important to us was your responsiveness in making last minute adjustments due to the "Big Wet" in Northern Queensland.

We were also impressed with the knowledgeable tour guides. It wasn't just having the answers, it was their obvious interest in so many obscure subjects. As far as a photo (or two) is concerned, I should get my act together in the next week or so and get them loaded into my computer. When I do, I will send you some. Best Regards," Kirk N., Chicago, USA (9 Apr 04)

Sydney Opera House
Click to enlarge• "Elisabete, Thanks for the welcome home, but I would much rather be in Australia - cyclones and all! Actually, we were very lucky with the weather. We left Hamilton Island just as the cyclone was coming in. I heard that it was a bad one. I had a work friend visit a week after we left. He said the airport and roads shut down....islands were evacuated..... Luck was on our side!

I thought your accomodations were great! I really enjoyed the 4 Point Sheraton in Sydney - great location. Club Med Lindeman Island was fun, but what's the deal with their drink tickets? Kind of an annoyance - I can't add much after a few rum punches even if they are color coordinated (kidding).

The Great Barrier Reef excursion was nice; however, I think there might be better reef trips besides Reef World. The Reef World boat staff were great though, very efficient when handing out the barf bags. Fortunately I wasn't in need!

Melbourne was lovely. Although I won't choose to stay in a B&B again (no offense to you Myrna). It feels a bit too much like I'm staying with a distant aunt. I think a hotel is easier when it comes to getting info on directions, excursion, dining out, etc.... Just my opinion. All in all, I had a great time and look forward to visiting again. Hopefully Myrna can send a picture in an email. Thanks for all your help with our arrangements. PS - you were right about the boys in Melbourne.... very cute!"
