Hi Sonia, Thanks for all your help planning and organizing our great trip to Australia and New Zealand. Our accommodations at the
Hilton Auckland, St Moritz Queenstown, Inter-continental Sydney, Kewarra Beach and Coconut Beach Resort were great, your suggestions were exactly what we requested. If we know of anyone planning a trip to Australia or New Zealand we will certainly contact you and Luxury Downunder.
In addition, you were very responsive to any changes we needed to make and followed up on all open issues, and since my husband and uncle were gone for 5 weeks, there was a lot of planning and changes that happened. Thanks again for your awesome help!" Mike and Lesley E., Dublin, USA (28 Nov 05)

Hello Sonia, Although we have been in Australia for almost a month, we have only scratched the surface of what this huge and wonderful country offers. But what we have seen has been wonderful.
Kewarra Beach Resort and then The
Reef Endeavour 4-day cruise from Cairns gave an appreciation of the Great Barrier Reef and some wonderful snorkeling. Linda snorkeled for the first time and loved it. The planning of this trip began in 2000, and it has given us much to be thankful for this year." Roger & Linda C., Burlington, USA (28 Nov 05)

Hello Sonia, The
Kewarra Beach Resort deserves a longer stay. It is a place to relax and to let oneself be transported into another world. We liked staying in the Timara suite. It's ideal for 2 couples or a threesome such as ours who are traveling together as it has two bedrooms and a common but separate living area with a bar, TV and library.
The suite overlooks a lagoon, which is full of life and rainforest trees and flowers. And it's just a hop and a skip down a rainforest path to the beach. They've really done a fantastic job with their grounds. The gardener even takes you on guided tours around the place to acquaint you with the various flora and fauna. We really liked it there and would consider returning for a longer stay. " Nick and Jane M., Athens, Greece (24 Aug 05) - read full report

Sonia, Our trip was so wonderful. The accommodations were superb. Of course the highlights were the
Kewarra Beach Resort (what a heavenly place that is) and
The Observatory Hotel in Sydney. The biggest surprise for me was
Adelaide. What a delightful small city! And
Uluru is the most astounding place. All of your bookings were great and we didn't have any problems. I've taken trips all over the world but this was a special trip for me. I now understand why my husband has been to Australia so many times. Thanks for all of your help. " Karen J., New York, USA (3 Dec 04)

Hi Dinah,
Kewarra Beach really is a great resort - the Rooms, Facilities and Park are great! The distance to Cairns is just ok since a public bus trip takes ~1h for AU$6, a trip by cab costs AU$35.
The staff was very friendly, even if things were not optimal from time to time. Breakfast Service (simple fried eggs have been a real "challenge"). The Restaurant is very good but I was quite upset when I was "instructed" I have to make a reservation as a Resort guest.
It seems from time to time masses of asian tourists visit the restaurant by organized bus-trips. In this case I'd expect they have a small contingent of tables for their permanent guests (paying $400/night) or at least tell permanent guests during breakfast, it might become crowded. Nevertheless it is a real nice resort.
Diving with ProDive was also great, the liveaboard was real fun - and everything's well organized and very safe. Attached some pics Best Regards" Claus F., Nussloch, Germany (9 Nov 04)

Dear Tina, The visit to Australia was fantastic and really that nice which people told us it would be. Down below life seems to have a different meaning and people were just so nice. We met only 2 unfriendly Aussies, both at
Cairns airport customs and check in staff.
Both
Sydney and
Hunter Valley were fantastic, Sydney a little chilly but people so friendly. Sydney - Cairns via the International terminal is no hit, especially if you are onward booked, as we were, out of Cairns domestic.
The luggage handling and the time almost made us to miss the
Dunk Island flight. Sydney said that the luggage could be tagged directly to Dunk, but Cairns were of a different opinion, so all luggage had to be taken to customs again and back to Domestic !! That´s where we met the two unfriendly guys who had no understanding why people got frustrated, not only us.
Dunk and
Bedarra Island were absolutely top. Different style, because different customer segments but just so organised and lots of nice staff. My wife got some cold,so at Dunk she got medicine from the Royal Flying Doctors which was taken to Bedarra at a fraction of cost. Food was superb and so the wine.
Kewarra was nature at its best. I met the President and owner of the place and he taught me a lot not only about the rainforest but lots of other environmental projects going on in Queensland. They offered an upgrade to a suite, which we of course did not mind.
Finally
Singapore where we stayed for the 20th time at
Oriental. I am attaching one from the Reef taken with my Sony digital which would give you some idea about the beautiful nature. My wife on a tiny atoll. Best regards," B.A., Sweden (26 Oct 02)
