Orpheus Island as the place for Eileen & I to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary it was everything you said it would be & more, it truly was a second honeymoon for us. From the moment we set foot on the Island until the time we left the experience was nothing but pleasurable. The food was out of this world, presentation superb, & the chef made our anniversary meal extra special by 'going the extra yard' with the dessert (photo included).
The staff were some of the most professional we have come across, nothing was ever too much trouble, if you needed them they were there, if you didn't want to be disturbed you never saw them. Not just the front side staff, the behind the scenes crew were also brilliant, no matter what time you went for breakfast when you returned to the room it was made up & the nightly turn down of the bed was just another attention to detail that put this holiday 'in a class of its own'.
The scenery, well I dont think I have the words to describe how beautiful the waters, coral & fish are except maybe to say God was having a very good day when he put this part of the world together. Eileen & I are looking forward to our next visit to Orpheus, we are not sure when we will get back but we are sure we will. Hi Sonia, Our Honeymoon in
Orpheus Island was absolutely faultless. It was by far the best holiday we have had ....far better than the more renowned islands like Hayman. We had a really special time ...the staff ....service...snorkelling....the food ...complete taste sensation every night....and we chose the best week as we only had to share the island with one other couple. Hopefully we will be able to make another visit one day ....maybe our 10 year anniversary! Thank you for all your help we will definitely come to you for any future holidays in Oz. P.S. Dear Zoe, We had a really lovely time at
Orpheus Island. The food was sensational and we were lucky to have delightful weather. Our only criticism was that there seemed to be no regular trips to the outer reef organised by the resort - on a couple of days it was too windy, but we had assumed that there would be plenty of opportunities to do something other than snorkel around the island (after all, we were there to see the reef). Dear Mary, We had the most fantastic time at
Orpheus Island and are looking so forward to returning there sometime again in the future. The weather, food, accommodation, staff and the beauty of the island were more than we could ask for. Karen and her husband made us feel so special and pampered during our stay at Orpheus Island. Our trip from Townsville, on the light aircraft, to the Island and the return were scenic and comfortable. My time with my daughter and son-in-law could not have been spent in a better place.
Our trip on
the Queenslander Train was so pleasant with the good food and light entertainment at each meal. So what can I say but the whole trip was FANTASTIC. Thank you so much for your love and care while we were planning it and also the prompt sending of our tickets etc. We will certainly be using you and your company when we venture up that way again. Tina Just to let you know, Fi and I had an absolutely wonderful and really relaxing time on
Orpheus Island. The staff are just sensational being attentive, unobtrusive, genuinely friendly, great sense of humour and made us feel right at home....from the moment we landed to the moment we left.
The location is just breath taking, the facilities first rate, the food was exceptional, and the travel arrangements ran like clock work. Fi and I agree that we have never had such a great holiday. Orpheus Island Resort and all your arrangements went very smoothly. The weather was almost perfect - around 28 every day and we did lots of snorkelling. The food was fabulous and best of all I did not gain weight! All the staff very friendly and helpful. Occupancy only between 6 & 12 which we enjoyed. Would love to hear of specials from time to time. Hey Tina, Well I finally told all my friends what a wonderful time we had. I guess I can share with you now. I am so glad I inquired about "that island" by Townsville!!!!
FABULOUS EVERYTHING. Our stay at
Orpheus Island started grand right from the start. The upgraded suite was divine but the atmosphere is indescribable. Remember the problem trying to get those two nites at first. Well......it turned out that Ed and I were the ONLY two guest at the resort for the first 3 nites. Picture that!! I guess that says it all. We had undivided attention when we wanted it. That was the best part we were left alone and not bothered as one might think being the only guests on the island.
I also did not realize that the resort IS the only thing on the island. Oh by the way there are no lockers at Townsville. The option for luggage storage is their hanger. Fortunate for us (again) we were the only two going and returning on the seaplane. So we were able to take all our luggage. See they even catered to my worries.
The snorkling was the best at the coral gardens and the dive well....... I guess we have to go back to find Nemo. It had rained a couple of days prior so it was a bit cloudy. Next time it would be nice to know when the charter is running. Unfortunately it was not available to go to the outer reef.
The staff were tremendous at all the details. The chef was outstanding with all his presentations. All seven courses were a pleasure to watch especially their deliveries. Dining on the jetty was a first for us. Romantic as ever. Should I say anymore ??? I can go on!!! Even when we were invaded with 4 other guests the attention remained the same.
That truly IS paradise on earth, and Australia's best kept secret. I know it was safe for me to tell my tales here, but shhhhhhhh don't tell to many it will spoil the tranquility. So again thanks for all the time spent making our vacation the most memorable yet.!! We had to return for another dose of SNOW ...22*F brrrrrrr Take care Be safe. Kylie. We had a fabulous time! The
Daintree Eco Lodge was nice - the spa was beautiful though the food was mediocre. We loved
Orpheus Island - the 7 course dinners were out of this world. The staff was so friendly and very accommodating. My one suggestion is that it is really not the place for scuba diving - we had a difficult time getting out to the outer reef and with the small number of guests, it was difficult for the resort to plan frequent trips. Thanks for your planning! PS It was so easy to drive around

Hi Tina...Andrew and I had a FABULOUS !!!! time.
Orpheus Island resort is absolutely beautiful and the staff at the resort were incredible.... service with a smile, always friendly and helpful and happy..... and plenty of activities going on all the time which were great. They upgraded us to a beachfront suite on the last night, which had a fabulous spa and huge outdoor shower. We went on a dive trip on the last day and when we returned they had the spa bubbling away for us and a A complimentary bottle of champagne ... it was amazing! The whole 7 nights has left me speechless.... it was the perfect holiday for us.
The morning we left the island, the sea plane picked us up from the beach. We were the only ones travelling back to
Townsville on that flight. It was so nice, the resort managers and a couple of the staff stood on the beach and waved us off ..... it was really sad to leave. I would recommend Orpheus to everyone .... Andrew and I have decided that we will be going back there again at some stage in the future.

THANKS Jo. we had a great time and really appreciate the short notice hustle you guys went through around Xmas to make sure we would make it to
Orpheus Island. The island itself is a wonderful resort. very quiet, superb epicurean food and quite nice accomodations. the staff was charming. the biggest issue is that they do not have daily dive trips (even though website says you can dive for US$110) and so I needed to charter a boat which was very expensive. still staff was helpful in booking the charter. thanks again for your help. happy new year. Hi Tina, We had a wonderful time in Australia and absolutely fell in love with the country. Everything was perfect. It turned out that the camping we did in
Uluru, Kata Juta and
King's Canyon had to change at the last minute because not enough people had signed up for the trip you had booked us for. So instead of having people to do the cooking and tent set up for us, we were part of a group that did the cooking and clean up ourselves. It turned out fine though. It was actually a lot of fun and felt much more like an adventure since we had to do everything for ourselves. Everyone was so nice in the group with us too.
Orpheus Island was magnificent. There turned out to be only four other couples (for a total of 8 people) on the island! Needless to say, the service was magnificent and the food was outstanding.
The only "bad" thing was that the tides had been particularly low in the couple of days preceding our arrival and during our stay, causing the visibility to be less clear than usual. But the snorkeling was still reasonably good and we even got to swim up to whale! I will attach a picture here from the trip and also send you a couple more.
