Getting There
Heron Island is located 70km off the coast of Gladstone. Regular flights are available from all Australian capital cities to Gladstone. The high speed launch departs Gladstone Marina at 11am daily and takes approximately 2 hours to reach Heron Island. A helicopter transfer departs the airport daily on demand during daylight hours and the scenic flight takes 40 minutes. The heli is highly recommended during windy conditions to avoid seasickness. Transfers do not operate on Christmas Day.

Spa
The new day spa at Heron Island Resort, Aqua Soul Spa, has 5 treatment rooms including a double massage and double vichy shower room. They use both Phytomer and Sodashi for their Spa treatments. As Phytomer has 100% marine ingredients, they allow you to embrace the re-mineralising, balancing and relaxing virtues of the sea. The richness of the sea is matched by the nurturing strength of natural botanicals.

Sodashi products are a premium all-Australian natural skin and body care range, highly-respected and known for their healing and relaxation properties. 'Sodashi' is an ancient Sanskrit word which means 'wholeness, purity and radiance' - these form the pillars of Sodashi and are the basis of the spa philosophy at Aqua Soul.

Children
The Heron Island Resort Kids Junior Rangers Program (7-12 years inclusive) is available during Australian school holidays. Children enjoy hands-on activities and have the chance to earn a colourful collection of 15 badges for participating in different activities. A one-off registration fee of $55 applies for each Junior Ranger participant with fees generating funds for the Queensland Turtle Conservation Program. Babysitting is available on request throughout the year at an additional charge.

Heron Island Reviews - read more
"As a female traveling by myself in another country, I was concerned about going to a resort, but I had a great time. I met many new friends and was entranced by the beauty of the island and the reef. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the accomodations were excellent. I would recommend Heron Island to anyone!"Judy C., Lansing, MI. USA

"...we had a wonderful holiday at Heron Island & can thoroughly recommend it to any of your clients. We were lucky with the weather so scuba was great. Saw turtles laying and hatching & we even loved the noisy birds! Thank you for your help with all the arrangements, which were first class."Vern & Jenny S., Adelaide, Australia
