The Resort
Long Island Resort is both enchanting and informal, surrounded by National Park with 20 km of bush walks, where you can take a hamper lunch to one of the many deserted beaches and enjoy the crystal clear waters of the Whitsundays! The island is located in the enchanting Whitsundays and is a tropical island getaway surrounded by National Parks and sparkling blue waters.

This resort at Long Island is a popular holiday haven for visitors to the Whitsunday region. Here you can relax under the palm trees on the beach or spend the day waterskiing, parasailing, island hopping, cruising, playing tennis or exploring the 20 kms of bush walks considered by many to be some of the prettiest in the Whitsunday Islands group.

Our consultants regularly visit Long Island to improve their product knowledge - view some of their recent photos here.

Accommodation - see rooms
The resort has 156  rooms and is suitable for families, couples and singles. Families are well catered for, with bunks and roll-way beds featured in many of the beachfront and garden rooms.

Activities
From Long Island you can take a day cruise to Reef World, island resorts, sailing, fishing and other tours. The Dive Shop on Long Island has a dive instructor and offers a complimentary scuba diving lesson in the resort pool. Scuba diving on the reef is available at extra cost.

Guests can snorkel and dive on the Fringe Reef in front of the resort. But the fun doesn't stop when the sun goes down. Then enjoy the variety of evening entertainment and when it is over, don't go to bed because the resort's disco continues through the night.

Dining
The Palms Restaurant provides the main dining with buffet style breakfasts, lunches and dinners. Picnic hamper lunches are an extra option for that romantic getaway to a secluded beach. Cafe Paradise offers a wide range of light snacks and beverages at affordable prices.

Long Island Reviews - read more
"...We had a fantastic trip to Long Island... the Long Island Resort is probably not the most exquisite resort in the Whitsundays, but it is definitely the one that suited us the best.

The trip started with a great and fast transport to the island. Upon arrival we were upgraded to a beachfront room, which we really appreciated. The buffet of the hotel has a big choice of different foods, all very tasty, specially the sea-food on saturday. Delicious...

During our stay we indulged in so many of the offered activities, such as tennis, mini-golf, scuba diving, mini-catamaran-sailing etc. The weather in the Whitsundays was also excellent. We can definitely recommend for young people as well as for families, it was definitely a great value."
