Practical Information

Club Med childrens' programs and their availability are different with each Village and are frequently changing. Some require pre-booking before arrival so please check with your Consultant when booking your holiday. To ensure that your family holiday is problem-free, here are some essential guidelines from Club Med to prepare your children's stay and practical tips for hassle-free family holidays.

Confidence and safety

Experienced and in touch, Club Med's GO's establish trust and bond with your children. Relax and enjoy your holidays. Teens and little ones are always near their parents and can see them whenever they like during the day.

Supervision and facilities

• At Baby Club Med, Petit Club Med, Mini Club Med, children are supervised by qualified GO's. In France, they hold either a BAFA (certificate for children's activity group leaders) or an early childhood diploma in work with small children, depending on the age of the children being supervised. Equivalent local qualification in other countries.
• Childcare quality standards apply to the supervision of children under 6 years; in particular, to the number of children per G.O. No exceptions will be made and no children will be admitted above the quota. To ensure your children are perfectly safe, GO's never work alone and other GO's help when necessary.
• Strict safety rules: a contact diary is used to keep parents informed (account of the day, time of child's arrival and departure).
• Children wear a bracelet to show they are in the care of a G.O.
• French and American safety standards apply to children's club facilities (e.g use of safety glass).
• A nurse is in attendance at Mini Club Med Villages, and a paediatrician at Baby Club Med Villages.

How to join

On arrival, parents should should see the G.O team responsible for Baby Club Med, Petit Club Med or Mini Club Med, to register their children on the appropriate list. It is important to tell the GO's at this point of any particular habits or allergies the child may have. It is also important to ensure children maintain their usual eating habits (eating times, balanced meals) and sleep patterns, and have appropriate clothing for the weather conditions. Adapting to a new environment can cause minr behavioural problems or eating or sleeping disorders. Because of their immune systems are immature, small children are more vulnerable to easily-spread ENT (ear, nose and throat) infections.

The Contact Diary

Each morning, parents fill out the attendance register, specifying the time at which the child has been left and will be collected, and where the parent or guardian can be contacted.
• At Baby Club Med and Petit Club Med, this register serves as a contact diary. Parents or guardians can refer to the register for information about meals, nappy changes, naps, along with advice and recommendations for parents.
• At Mini Club Med, upon signing the register, the G.O gives each child aged 4 to 7 years a bracelet that indicates clearly they are enrolled in Mini Club Med.

Children's Health Formalities

For all Baby Club Med and Petit Club Med Villages, provide evidence of up-to-date statutory vaccines (medical certificate or health record). For Baby Club Med, at least the first dose of vaccine against diphtheria, tetanus and polio. Other conditions may apply at the time of booking so please check with your Consultant for the latest information and requirements.

Children can only be accepted into the children's clubs if they are considered to be fully fit and adaptable to collective life, without any sign of contagious illness or fever and do not require one-to one care. If this is not the case, then Club Med has the right, for the security of your child and other children within their care, not to accept the child at the children's clubs, or else to put the child in isolation.

Their clubs cannot accept children who need individual medical attention (particularly monitoring) or the exclusive help of a third person or where the child will not partake in group activity in a sociable manner that shows courtesy to the other children and respect to the GO's. Such children will remain the sole responsibility of their parents or guardian.
