Overview - Coral Reef Cruises offer luxury expedition-style adventure cruising in Australia's World Heritage Marine and National Parks. Coral Princess offers 10-night cruises of The Kimberley coast off NW Australia until September 2012. In October 2012 she repositions to Cairns/Townsville, offering 3- 4- and 7-night cruises of the Great Barrier Reef. Take special note of the Solar Eclipse cruise 10 November 2012 ex Cairns. Activities include guided coral viewing (from glass bottom boats), snorkelling and scuba diving supervised by qualified instructors, and exploration of tropical rain forest islands. Expedition Leaders and Guest Lecturers inform about Aboriginal culture of the region. Travel on the aluminium excursion vessel for extensive exploration of the coastal rivers and gorges, past waterfalls, salt-water crocodiles and bird life.
Accommodation - Select from four types of accommodation - all very spacious and elegantly appointed. Six cabins (10m2) have twin beds and viewing portholes. Five Staterooms (13m2), eight Upper Deck Staterooms (14m2), and six Deluxe Staterooms (17m2) have large viewing windows and the choice of twin or double beds. A number of staterooms have extra divans or Pullman berths, and others have connecting doors.
All accommodation is spacious and air-conditioned with private ensuites. All rooms are serviced daily. "We rate the accommodation as amongst the best we have experienced," is typical of past guests' reviews.
Food & Dining - All meals during the cruise are included. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are usually served the Dining Room located on the Main Deck and are buffet-style. A fully stocked cocktail bar combines with two modern air-conditioned lounges for pre-dinner drinks or late-night conversation about the day's activities. Coffee and tea is available 24 hours.
Past guests speak highly of the standard of cuisine and attention to dietary requests. Standard hours are breakfast from 7:00-8:30am, lunch at 12:30pm and dinner at 7:30pm however meal times may vary according to the day's activities.
Entertainment & Activities - This is an explorer vessel - so the entertainment is mainly in the activities on shore. Activities include guided coral viewing (from glass bottom boats), snorkelling and scuba diving supervised by qualified instructors, and exploration of tropical rain forest islands. Travel on the aluminium excursion vessel for extensive exploration of the coastal rivers and gorges, past waterfalls, salt-water crocodiles and bird life.
Reading: A comprehensive reference library features videos and books on the reef, islands and outback. Conversation: Building friendships with fellow passengers is very much part of the experience. Lectures: Expedition Leaders and Guest Lecturers inform about the regions and cultures of the regions visited. After-dinner slide shows may finish the evening. Relax on the sun deck and in the spa pool.
